Fall Internships in the Office of Community Engagement

 A Communications & Media Relations Intern is needed to enhance the Office of Community Engagement’s online presence and better promote campus efforts to provide resources that enhance the quality of life in the surrounding Prince George’s County community. The City of College Park is in the middle of vibrant economic development and our office (OCE) is experiencing large-scale rebranding. The internship is not paid; interns are encouraged to coordinate receiving academic credit. [Check with your departmental or college internship coordinator.]  The Communications Intern will work 10 hours per week throughout the semester. Hours are flexible.

The intern will develop and edit written content for the campus community engagement website (oce.umd.edu), newsletter, social networking mediums, and other program-related publications as needed. The intern will document campus community engagement news and events through written summaries, press releases, photographing new projects and events, as well as maintaining the Office of Community Engagement’s social media and marketing accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MailChimp, etc.). The intern will also help the Office of Community Engagement with general outreach at campus events and perform other duties as assigned.

A Graphic Design Intern is needed to enhance the Office of Community Engagement’s on and off-campus identity and better promote campus efforts to provide resources that enhance the quality of life in the surrounding Prince George’s County community. The internship is unpaid; students are strongly encouraged to seek academic credit in conjunction with this opportunity. [Check with you departmental of college internship coordinator.]

The intern will develop graphics, layouts, fliers, logos, brochures and content for the Office’s programs, initiatives, and website (http://www.oce.umd.edu). The intern will also help the Office of Community Engagement with digital communciations/social media, events/programs and perform other duties as assigned. The Graphic Design Intern will work 10 hours per week throughout the semester. Hours are flexible.
