Student-Run Mental health text line, Lean On Me CP is open and recruiting!

Lean On Me College Park (see our terplink here:, a student organization that provides University of Maryland students with non-crisis peer-to-peer text-based emotional support through the convenience and confidentiality of texting. This UMD student club also runs mental health events and activities.

Are you interested in supporting students through mental health challenges? Do you hope to make a wider impact on campus? Are you ever the stand-in therapist, mom friend, or go-to tea spiller? Apply to be a Lean On Me College Park (CP) supporter at! Lean On Me CP is an anonymous, peer-to-peer text line for UMD students to seek non-crisis mental health support. 

Lean On Me CP complements existing services at UMD with a mission to lower the barrier to entry for seeking emotional support by being anonymous, highly accessible, approachable, and involved in the community. Feel free to text us at 301-494-8808 from 2 PM - 2 AM any day of the week to chat with one of our trained peer supporters.

If you are interested in being a supporter, please apply by September 26th at and learn more about the line and role here. Lean On Me supporters are on the other end of our text line, chatting with fellow students. All UMD students are welcome to apply to be a supporter; no prior experience is needed and all training will be provided!
