How does it work?

  1. View the list of professionals available.
  2. Find someone(s) of interest?  Click the link under the "Sign-Up" column and you will be redirected to Careers4Terps to sign up for a time slot.
  3. Make a note of the time slot you selected!  You will also receive a reminder email the morning of your informational interview.

How do I prepare?

Enroll in the University Career Center's online informational interviewing module to learn about how to research the professional, industry, and organization ahead of time, types of questions to ask during these group meetings, how to show your appreciation to the professional after the meeting, and how to stay in contact. You are encouraged to come to the informational interview with at least two (2) questions you'd like to ask the professional.

NOTEthis is not a formal interview; it is an informational conversation with the intent to gain insight into a career field of interest.

Questions can be addressed to Erica Ely, Assistant Director-Career Education & Exposure in the University Career Center at eely@umd.edu.
