Entry Level Position for Recent or December Grad with International Foundation for Electoral Systems on Libya

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) supports citizens’ rights to participate in free and fair elections. Our independent expertise strengthens electoral systems and builds local capacity to deliver sustainable solutions.
Since 1987, IFES has worked in over 145 countries – from developing democracies, to mature democracies.
In Libya, IFES is providing technical support to the High National Election Commission (HNEC) and other stakeholders to enhance the transparency, integrity and management of the electoral process in Libya. IFES is also engaging with local organizations to raise awareness among Libyan civil society about the greater transition process. Programming aims to integrate marginalized voices into decision-making processes.
The Program Associate is an entry level position to program work at IFES. As a junior member of the team, the Program Associate will provide administrative and programmatic support for IFES’ Libya program.

Under the supervision of the Program Officer, the Program Associate will:
•Review and submit field expense reports, wire requests, timesheets, travel expense reports and other financial reports and requests to supervisor for approval.
•Monitor program spending through inputs to financial pipeline; perform basic analysis and projection of financial status. 
•Support recruitment and mobilization of consultants for field assignments.
•Plans and expedites airline, hotel, and visa arrangements
•Liaise with the Contracts and Grants office to coordinate procurement and the delivery of goods and services.
•Assist in the preparation of weekly reports, website updates and other reports;
•Maintain project records and documents, both online and offline.
•Conduct basic research and provides general support in proposal development process.
•Prepare and assemble briefing materials as directed.
•Provide targeted assistance on special projects and assignments.
•May travel, on limited basis, to field in support of project activities.
•Attend meetings at request of supervisor to gather and share information with colleagues


•BS/BA with 0 to 2 years of experience in international development or related field.
•Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the MENA region
•Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
•Familiarity with USAID regulations helpful.
•Experience living and working overseas, preferably in the region.
•Introductory experience in proposal development support a plus.
•Arabic language skills preferred, but not required.
