Program Manager (Day Programs), Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School

The Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School is actively searching for an inspirational, motivated, and entrepreneurial leader to join our team in the role of Program Manager to oversee and promote our one-day Teambuilding, Challenge Course, Professional Group Development, and Police-Youth Challenge Programs.

The Program Manger ensures that BCBOBS is fulfilling its mission through one-day programs, manages continuous growth in clients served, and serves as single point of accountability for all system operations and program staff. Our new teammate will be an ambitious and organized person who can embody our organizational mission and wants to help us take our one-day teambuilding and leadership programs to the next level.

Major Responsibilities Include: 
  • Create strategic partnerships and build relationships with schools, County and City educational organizations, state and federal agencies, non-profit and for-profit businesses, and other industry professionals. 
  • Analyze program outcomes (safety; qualitative and quantitative evaluations) to review and recommend changes and modifications to program curriculum to ensure delivery meets client goals. 
  • Demonstrated success in program management, including budgeting and logistics. 
  • Work in concert with Sales and Admissions to coordinate program delivery, including appropriate staff scheduling, arrival departure times, parking, food coordination, gear requirements, and other client need coordination. 
  • Manage program staff and ensure appropriate training, professional development, and progression. 
  • Train or coordinate the training of a diverse staff to work with varied student groups including private and public schools, educators, non-profit and for-profit employees, youth groups, police, and other professionals. 
  • Ensure staff are trained in challenge course safety, best practices, and BCBOBS procedural operations of the challenge course, including low elements, team-belayed elements, static course, and zip-line operations. 
  • Ensure that the challenge course facilities are in good physical condition, operate safely, comply with industry standards, and are regularly inspected and maintained. 
  • Develop and manage annual program budget.
