Social Media Intern

MPG (Mall at Prince Georges) is looking for a Social Media Intern to work alongside the Property Marketing and Digital Marketing teams, to create and implement social media strategies and campaigns. They will assist with planning and execution of social media posts and ads, social media engagement efforts, email marketing campaign building and other digital marketing efforts. The Digital Marketing Intern will have the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to MPG’s local marketing efforts, while learning fundamental marketing skills.

Digital Marketing:
• Work with Property Marketing and Digital Marketing teams to plan, launch and evaluate strategic marketing campaigns for the property.
• Brainstorm and bring to life ideas for new and innovative social media campaigns.
• Track, compile and assess social media performance and recommend actions for improved performance.
• Help monitor, grow, and identify opportunities for Mall at Prince Georges to enhance social media presence on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
• Assist with promotion of local mall events, store openings, redevelopments and more.
• Maintain digital reports to determine success of various social media and email campaigns including key metrics and strategic analysis.
• Assist with MPG website content and copywriting.
• Participate in content development and digital strategy meetings, offering creative ideas and insightful feedback for past and future campaigns.
• Keep MPG’s online presence across web and social up to date with the latest store directories, deals, events, etc. 

Qualified Applicants will be:
• Entering their Junior or Senior year in college with strong interest in marketing, advertising or communications.
• Available 16 hours/week including some nights and weekends
• Social media obsessed. You not only recognize great social media content, but can create it yourself across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, etc.
• A creative thinker with a desire to come up with fresh ideas and not afraid to think outside the box.
• Able to story tell and engage an audience through social media.
• Passionate about retail, fashion, consumer behavior a plus.
• Able to turn pictures into Instagram gold through photo editing apps.
• An excellent communicator, both written and oral.
• Understands and can utilize emerging platforms, digital media, and web/social media management and measurement tools (e.g. Falcon, Google Analytics).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• A self-starter with the ability to multitask.
