For the first time, the University Health Center's Health Promotion & Wellness Services (HPWS) unit will be hosting a virtual wellness retreat to support student health and wellness during Spring Break (Wednesday, March 17 - Friday, March 19), called Camp Wellness!
We know this year has posed more challenges than we could have ever imagined, leaving many of our students isolated, stressed, and deserving of a break. With travel restrictions in place, some students will not be traveling home or vacationing during their time off. In an effort to encourage students to truly rest and recharge during their short break, we will provide a series of engaging sessions, along with our partners in RecWell and Studio A, to foster community and promote students' wellness.
This program will be free of charge, entirely virtual, and participants will receive a commemorative Camp Wellness t-shirt and goody bag, either to be picked up at the Health Center, or delivered to their home address. In an effort to foster meaningful dialogue and group cohesion, we are capping registration at 50 students, so please encourage your students to sign up quickly if they are interested in joining us for this exciting new offering!
Please feel free to share this with other campus partners and listservs you may be connected to, and for those who teach courses, this could be a great extra credit opportunity for your students :)
Registration opens on Monday, February 22, and closes on Friday, March 5. I have included the registration form HERE, and students can also find the registration link on our website, health.umd.edu, starting Monday.
