Coordinator for UMD BSOS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS) at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications for the position of Coordinator for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI Coordinator). The DEI Coordinator works closely with the BSOS Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to help execute and coordinate DEI and student success initiatives throughout the College.
The Coordinator assumes major responsibility for coordinating one of the College's signature program, the BSOS Summer Research Initiative (SRI) and also provides creative input and support for other diversity and inclusion-related activities. The Coordinator often serves as the first point of contact for BSOS dean's office DEI activities and resources and corresponds with others regarding the mission of the office. The Coordinator serves as a conduit of information between the office and others, especially managing our website and curating information for our weekly blogs that are mass distributed to students.
The successful applicant must be able to work independently, be organized, outcome-oriented, and be able to demonstrate excellent time management since responsibilities include coordinating multiple projects that have competing priorities. The Coordinator collaborates with others within the BSOS dean's office, BSOS departments, and units across campus, interacting with students, staff, and faculty. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy a balance between self-paced projects, partnering with others, and serving students. The DEI Coordinator also provides administrative support for the Assistant Dean for DEI and partners with other dean’s office staff, when needed, to help provide administrative support for the dean’s office.
